Assalamu alaikum. Your privacy matters greatly to us at Halal Nikah. We undertake to keep your personal information safe and to use it respectfully. This policy applies to both the Halal Nikah mobile app and the website (halalnikah.app).

What information we collect

The information you give us, such as:

name, photos, date of birth, gender
marital information, education, profession
family information and religious information
what you hope for in a life partner
contact details (mobile number, email)
guardian's details (if you provide them)
your activity in the app (sign-ins, matches, messages and so on)
device and push-notification tokens (so that notifications can be sent)

How your information is used

to find you a suitable life partner
to run kufu-based AI matching
to show you prospective profiles according to your preferences
to keep the app secure and to verify profiles
to provide necessary notices and services

Sharing your information

Your personal information is not disclosed to anyone without your permission.
If you wish, you can keep your name, photos and certain details hidden from other members.
Only Halal Nikah's authorised team may review your information, as necessary.
Your personal information is never sold or shared for advertising.
Where we are legally obliged to, information may be disclosed to the relevant authority and to no one else.

Third-party services

We use a few trusted services to run the app: Google Firebase for push notifications, and a payment gateway for buying packages. These services process only the information their own task requires.

Security of your information

We use modern security measures to keep your information safe. No internet-based service, however, can guarantee security in every respect.

Retention of information

Your information is kept for as long as your account is active. When an account is deleted, your profile, photos and personal details are removed from our active database. Some transaction records may be kept for a limited time where payment or the law requires it.

Your rights, and deleting your account

If you wish, you may:

change your own information at any time;
keep your profile hidden;
delete your account and all your information permanently.

Children

Halal Nikah is only for adults of marriageable age. Anyone under 18 is not permitted to use this service.

Changes to this policy

Halal Nikah may update this privacy policy as necessary. You will be informed through the app of any significant change.
